Career & Technical Education programs provide instruction for occupations in Ag Ed, Business Marketing & Computer Education, Family & Consumer Sciences, Health Science Technology, & Technology & Engineering Education (Industrial).
Requirements:
Minimum of 60 semester hours
Documented minimum of 2,000 hours of experience in the area to be taught
If the educator doesn't have 60 hours, they are required to prove 8,000 hours of experience taught outside of education in the area to be taught
Must apply online in ELIS
Must submit ISBE Form 73-23
Submit work experience
73-23 Part III to be completed by the applicant AND signed by the employer/notary public
Must select 3 CIP codes or areas to be endorsed
It is a 5-year renewable license only teaching grades 5-12 in the area of endorsement.
