Emily Gernand is highly deserving of the Golden Ruler Award for her dedication, leadership, and positive impact on students and colleagues. As a hearing itinerant teacher serving students with hearing loss, Emily has taken on the responsibility of supporting the entire county’s caseload this year. She also mentors a student teacher and has been instrumental in helping a new audiologist become familiar with our county systems and schools. Emily consistently steps in to support others, including covering maternity leaves in multiple districts. Her positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and commitment to students make her an invaluable member of the team.
