Amanda Nichols joined Oakwood High School in the fall of 2017. For the past nine years, Ms. Nichols has dedicated her time and talents to developing an outstanding art program at OHS. She consistently inspires a passion for art among a diverse group of students, encouraging creativity and artistic expression across all ability levels. Ms. Nichols continually seeks new ways to enhance her curriculum and expand opportunities for students by exploring innovative materials and instructional approaches. Through her guidance and mentorship, several of our students have pursued post-secondary education in the field of art. Amanda has also played a significant role in the success of the VVC Art Show when Oakwood High School has served as host. In addition to successfully organizing the event on multiple occasions, OHS has earned the past five consecutive VVC titles under her leadership. We sincerely appreciate Ms. Nichols’ dedication and the time and energy she invests in our students and our school community. We proudly congratulate her on receiving the Golden Ruler Award.
