Last night we attended Oakwood's "Aspiring Substitute Teacher Academy" at Oakwood Grade School.  It was hosted by Superintendent, Larry Maynard, the Board of Education, Oakwood Administrators, & several educators.    The purpose of the meeting was to address the teacher shortage impacting the school district.  The meeting included a short outline of opportunities available to those who want to help during the shortage and was followed by breakout sessions held by educators from the different grade levels.  Overall, the district was able to recruit over 25 new substitute teachers with the academy.

Congratulations to Oakwood School District for the successful event!
